Mast (232) - a structure or spar rising above the hull and upper portion of a ship or boat to hold sails. Also called pillar. An upright pole supporting something. Origins from Middle English, Old English, German, and Latin.

Galleon (232) - a large sailing vessel of the 15th to the 17th centuries used as a fighting or merchant ship. The word origin is from Spanish galeon.

Apt (234) - inclined, disposed, given, prone, appropriate for a certain occasion, suited. Anglo-French origin.

Predominant (234) - having power, authority, or influence over others, something that dominates. Has Medieval Latin origins.

Hurly-Burly (235) - noisy disorder and confusion, full of commotion, alternation of hurling and burling.

Luminescence (235) - the emission of light not caused by incandescence, and occurring at a lower temperature than incandescence bodies. Latin origin, lumen meaning light and -escene at the end.

Awe-inspiring (235) - amazing, magnificent, causing awe. Originated from around 1810
