(Chapter 54~57)

#6 - Wage a War of Attrition
#7 - Keep Him Alive
Me: Plan #7, to have company, to always stay alert and aware
Sonia: Plan #7, to have company, and all the other plans were doubtful
Sam: Plan #7, to have company, and because it worked
Barak: Plan #7, to have company, and because it worked
2) From what Pi has explained or done, what is essential to surviving in the ocean?
Me: having company, having faith and hope
Sonia: good source of water
Sam: keep yourself aware
Barak: food supply, hunting, always being aware
3) After Pi's successful fishing of a dorado, he realizes that a person can get used to anything, in his case, killing. Many days past, he even got used to Richard Parker. What are some things that you got used to that you struggled a lot with in the beginning?
Me: playing volleyball, speaking English
Sonia: moving from school to school
Sam: moving from school to school
Barak: people leaving from ISB
4) Pi is so glad that Richard Parker is with him in this castaway. How is having a company important?
Me: having nobody with you and being by yourself in the middle of Pacific on a lifeboat would be very hard to live through and would lose faith and hope soon
Sonia: to stay socially active
Sam: living through it together
Barak: to not go insane
5) What do you believe is the meaning or the symbolism of the carnivorous island of algae?
Me: he thought he could stay on the island forever but he realized that it was carnivorous. the island was there to get Pi back to the ocean and do not lose hope
Sonia: he should have faith and stay on the ocean and survive until saved
Sam: go back to the lifeboat and stay alive until he gets to the land
Barak: he needs to have faith and resume the journey and get back home
6) Who is the blind french man Pi talked to when he was blind?
He is the cook because he said he had kill a man and a woman and the cook killed the young sailor and Pi's mom and he was french. the reason why the dead cook suddenly appeared in front of Pi is because there is a cook inside Pi, who changed from struggling to kill a fish to eating human flesh.
As an aside, story of sole survivor, Mr. Piscine Molitor Patel, Indian citizen, is an astounding story of courage and endurance in the face of extraordinarily difficult and tragic circumstances. In the experience of this investigator, his story is unparalleled in the history of shipwrecks. Very few castaway can claim to have survived so long at sea as Mr. Patel, and none in the company of an adult Bengal tiger. (Martel 319)
