Barak - Life Of Pi

Job - Connector

During this part of the book the protagonist is introduced. The protagonist as well as the narrator is Piscine Molitor Patel, an Indian man which is currently living in Canada. Piscine starts describing his childhood. He describes the difficulties he faces (such as having a name that sounds like "pissing"; urinating), the family he has, his hobbies, and so on. The main point of the story so far is that Piscine has to constantly prove himself over, and over, and over again. He must act in an exceptional way so that he will be memorized in a certain way, and be accepted into society. I have decided to relate this to my own life using basketball. Every time I start training in a new club, with new teammates, and new coaches, I have to prove myself, and show that I am exceptionally good. I have to do this so that I will be more respected by my teammates, and recieve more playing time from my coaches. Piscine has to deal with a similar issue as he has to introduce himself in an exceptional way, so that he is not made fun, and has to stand out.
