"The Hobbit" by Tolkien
Hello people, for these literature circles my group and I are reading the "The Hobbit". My job is the Summarizer and we've read 100/306 pages.
The Summary:
The book begins by saying things about hobbits and Bilbo Baggins who is one of them. Then a wizards, Gandalf, comes and asks him to go on a possibly dangerous journey. At first Bilbo just wants to stick home and eat his six meals every day and do nothing but enjoy life. But then Gandalf and twelve other dwarfs convince him to come to the journey. Their goal is to kill the smaug, evil dragon, and get back the gold and treasure that was lost long ago.
They are being attacked by many dangers  and creatures. These are the key points:
      1. The very first event is the dwarfs convincing Bilbo to come with them on the journey.
      2. The second one is them preparing and starting the journey.
      3. Then they encounter the trolls, that trapped the whole group except for Gandalf, who then made noises that the trolls would hear and argue about if they should go and investigate. They argued for hours and when the sun came out they turned into stones. Trolls die of sunlight. This is how they got over the first obstacle. They also took their weapons, which were the goblin-killers.
      4. As a storm came they had to hide in a cave. In that cave there lived goblins. They asked what weapons the group carried. Unfortunately they carried the trolls' weapons which were the goblin-killers. The goblins of course got angry and tried killing the group. As the group ran the eagles friends of dwarfs and sworn enemies of goblins came and saved the group from getting slaughtered brutally.
      5. And the fifth key point was when Bilbo was in a cave with a hungry creature called the gollum. Since Bilbo didn't know the way out and the gollum was hungry to play a riddle game. If the gollum wins he gets to eat Bilbo, and if Bilbo wins the gollum shows him the way out. But Bilbo found a ring and put it in his pocket, so he asked the question:"What do I have in my pocket". The gollum didn't know so he raged and tried to eat Bilbo. But the ring had the power of making Bilbo invisible. And Bilbo instead of fighting and probably dying ran away unseen.
